Delicious

You know that feeling that washes over you when you are reading an author who has a mastery of words that speaks to your soul? That feeling is tingly and vibrant and delectable all at once. Sometimes words are so delicious your mouth waters and you have to read aloud because keeping them locked inside your mind limits their intensity.

For some readers it is Poe, Hemingway, Faulkner, or contemporaries like Tim O’Brien, David Sedaris. Maybe the familiar repetition of Emily Dickinson* gets you up out of your seat, while Robert Bly makes you want to curl up in the hay of an old barn.

Just wanted to share. I had a great read this morning!

* Fun Fact:  You can sing all of Emily Dickinson’s poems to the tune of The Yellow Rose of Texas
