MUSIC MONDAY
Do you remember this from elementary school music class? It remains one of my favorite pieces of music, likely because of the repeated exposure in my youth, but also because it is just so darn pretty. Without the film, a beautiful listen any time of the year, but certainly a Halloweeny kind of tradition.
The Danse Macabre, composed by Camille Saint-Saëns in 1874.
Filmstrip illustrated by Harold Dexter Hoopes in mid-1960s.
Not only did this remind me of the love for this music, I’d forgotten about filmstrips! I loved filmstrips!
